The art of receiving involves being aware of the gifts that the Universe brings to us, every moment and having the ability to accept them, even if they do not appear to be what we were expecting or come to us in a way that we expected. Often, these gifts will come through other people. For example, our desire for a new car may be answered through an interaction with someone who may give us a car or provide a car at a price that we can afford. Or our request for a new job may be answered by a surprise job offer from a total stranger. If we are not aware that the Universe can use other people to help us manifest our reality, we may miss the opportunity to have our prayers answered because we were not paying attention. Or because we do not know how to receive.
It is difficult for us to receive because we often believe that if we accept something from someone then we 'owe' them a return favor. Or, we believe that our manifestation should somehow materialize magically. Consider that someone who offers something to you may have a karmic debt to repay, one that you are not aware of. Giving to you is how they repay their debt and are then free from its effects. If you cannot receive what they are offering, you are interrupting the flow of good on both sides, yours and theirs.
Since we learn, from an early age, that we have to work hard for what we get in life, learning to receive may take time and effort. Although it seems like an easy enough concept, in reality it is hard for us to learn to accept from others and just say 'thank you.' But that is how our good often manifests for us and we must learn to become better receivers if we are to fully learn the process of manifestation, knowing that what others offer us involves much more than we realize and is part of a Universal cycle of giving and receiving that is the foundation of the manifestation process. So learn to receive with gratitude what others offer to you, without expectations and guilt, and just say thank you. What you do with that gift is up to you-all you have to do is learn how to receive.

When You're the Underdog
We all find ourselves in situations where we have to deal with someone who is bigger, meaner, more powerful and who has some type of control over us. This could be any situation in our lives in which we feel that we are the underdog, the victim and are in a situation where we can't win. These situations are yet another lesson for us, one in which we must learn to find our power, to prevail and to change how we perceive the circumstances. When we are dealing with someone who seems to have made it their life purpose to make our lives miserable, that can be very difficult to do. But there is a way to turn the situation around, once we understand what is happening. The most difficult people in our lives are our greatest teachers, the ones who can help us learn our most challenging lessons. They do this by placing us in a position of fear because we learn through experience. Namely, we have to be in the fear before we can understand what it is. Our challenge is to recognize this process and not get lost in the fear. But too often that is exactly what happens. We forget everything that we know about our power, lose our confidence, become emotionally attached to the experience and then watch helplessly as things spiral out of control. Meanwhile, the other person feeds off of our fear, takes our power and continues to put the pressure on us. We have two choices in these situations, we can run away (only to have it come up again in the future, as another lesson) or we can learn to detach, to find our power and to get closure on the lesson. This does not mean that the other person will change, but they will change how they deal with us, even if it means that they simply leave us alone. The strategy that we must devise, to get us out of the underdog or victim position is to get out of the fear and to realize that this is a lesson. Then detach the emotions, realizing that they are what keeps us connected to and involved within the experience. Without emotional attachment, there is no fear and without fear, the lesson is complete. This is a very difficult lesson to learn but it is one that we must all face. We will continue to be faced with lessons involving difficult people who will try to take our power if they have the chance. Just because we shift and raise our vibrations does not remove us from the lessons that we must experience. It does, however, put us in a place where we can view them with detachment, to not get caught up in the fear and to stay in our power. Then the lesson passes quickly and we can move on with our lives, moving forward to create situations where we are surrounded by people who respect and honor us. Uriel's Message What is the purpose of what you are doing at this time? Why are you here and are you making any progress with the work that you have been doing? These are questions that you ask of yourselves, as have many others before you. The answers are not easy, but neither are the questions. One of the reasons you have these questions is that you do cannot see your progress if you look for standards or benchmarks. This is an unprecedented time in humanity's history, where the energy is shifting to new levels and creating new reality paradigms. Therefore there is no way to measure your progress because no one has been able to do this before. It is impossible to measure the results of your efforts if you attempt to compare them with others because at this time, more than ever, each of you is on a very unique, personal journey of completion, where you are healing lifetimes of karma. That is why you are having a multitude of experiences, many of which are so demanding. It is also why many of you are finding yourselves alone, without partners, friends or even family, so that you can address the issues that you came to heal without creating additional karma for yourselves. Each day that you set your intention to heal, to raise your vibrations, is another day in which progress has been made. Each experience that you successfully overcome, each challenge that you address without fear, each situation in which you are able to reconnect to the Source of your power, is a day in which you have made progress. Be gentle with yourselves because you will often take one step forward and two steps back, will forget what you have learned and fall back into the fear and may find yourselves struggling with issues of detachment and emotions. But the fact that you can recognize these situations is proof that you are making progress. You purpose here is to assist humanity through the shift, to help the earth through this period of upheaval and uncertainty and to hold the light for yourselves and for others. There is an exponential effect on humanity for each person who raises their vibrations to new levels. So as you go through the Shift you are actually helping thousands of others who are not able to progress as rapidly as you are. If you unsure as to your level of progress, ask the Universe for confirmation and trust that it will be provided to you. Be sure to ask without expectation so that the answer can come to you in the most perfect way. And know that because you ask the question, you have proof of the progress that you are making on your journey.

Today's Children--Messy and Tidy
The new article on today's children is now available on the website. This month's article is about the adult indigo and crystal energy. This generation is known by many names, including Indigo and Crystal Children, Star Children, Light Children. Whatever name they are known by, they are a generation that we have never seen before and they have special needs, gifts and talents. The Crystal and Indigo children represent the new, higher energetic patterns that are arriving to change the Earth's vibrational frequency. This new series provides information on these children and the wonderful gifts they bring to the world. My two older children are Indigos and my youngest is a Crystal child. The two Indigos have always been content to live with 'disorganized chaos' while my younger child was fastidiously neat and tidy. Any attempts to organize the Indigo children's rooms, clothes and lives was met with resistance and disinterest-they had better things to do than to keep their rooms clean, their clothes put away, or to maintain a schedule. My Crystal child, on the other hand, did not like me to touch his things as he had his own system for putting things away and kept his room very neat. He is also very careful with his belongings, he does not like to be reminded about things he has already done and is punctual to a fault. This is another difference between Indigo and Crystal children-their intolerance and tolerance for structure and order. Indigos don't mind a mess; in fact, they can walk over them for days and not even see them. Crystals, on the other hand, must have order and are very intolerant of untidiness or chaos in any part of their lives. It makes them uncomfortable and disrupts their energy. While Indigos do not do well on a schedule; Crystals need the structure of knowing when and how things will happen. These differences can create problems for parents who have both Indigos and Crystals because what works for one will not work for the other. The best way to address this issue is to know what the tolerances are for each type of child and to set your expectations accordingly. For example, you should not expect your Indigo child to keep her room clean on her own. In fact, it may become extremely untidy before she will concede that it may need to be cleaned up. And even then, you'll probably have to help with the effort and direct the activities. Crystal children, on the other hand, won't need reminding because their rooms will already be tidy. But they will object strongly if you move things around or make changes in their environment without asking them. They probably have set things up the way they like them and won't appreciate your efforts at changing their environment at all. The Indigo and Crystal children know what they want and they are not willing to compromise their desires in response to anyone's rules and regulations, even those of their parents. Unlike previous generations of children, who were taught to 'speak when spoken to' and to do what they were told, these children have their own ideas about how they want to order their world, even at a very young age, and will insist that their parents respect their wishes. It is up to us, as parents, to overcome our past conditioning and to learn to compromise with our children, as appropriate to their age and the situation, rather than follow the 'do it because I said so' parenting style. The result will be two-fold, these children will be more comfortable within their environment and they will learn parenting skills that will help them deal with the next generations of special children.
